Traditional Custodians are the most appropriate respectful first point of contact for Welcome to Country, Language & Naming, Natural Resource Management and Cultural Practices for Events,  Many have peak bodies that you can liaise with.

Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc.(VAEAI) - A community based and controlled organisation established to ensure the involvement of Victorian Koorie community members in decision making regarding education and training provision for Koorie students. Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Groups (LAECGs) can provide important links between Koorie communities and educational institutions.

Bunjilaka Aboriginal Centre - Is a campus of the Melbourne Museum, developed to empower Aboriginal this centre was developed to empower Aboriginal people to interpret their own cultural heritage for both Indigenous and non-indigenous people.

Koorie Heritage Trust - Is a not-for-profit Aboriginal community organisation that aims to protect, preserve and promote the living culture of Aboriginal people of south-eastern Australia. The Trust’s charter is a commitment to protect, preserve and promote the living culture of Indigenous peoples of southeast Australia.

CSIRO The Indigenous STEM Education Project  - Aims to increase participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Living Black - Is an SBS television Indigenous affairs series which focuses on issues relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, places and events in a documentary style. SBS maintains the Living Black website.

First Australians - is an award-winning historical documentary series broadcast on SBS.

Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies is a world-renowned research, collections and publishing organisation. It promotes knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island cultures, traditions, languages and stories, past and present.

Koorified ABORIGINAL COMMUNICATION AND WELL-BEING - pdf This project began by extending an invitation to Aboriginal English speakers within VACCHO to assist compile a list of common words and sentences used in Aboriginal English.

Department of Education: Indigenous Education Lesson Plans - APAC consultants have developed 300 sample lesson plans that feature an Aboriginal context in all phases of schooling and in all learning areas.

  • Imbed the workers in the community
  • Culturally appropriate communication processes
  • Workers are skilled in collecting and responding to community feedback
  • Also, Tutors with with real skills who can teach in diverse environments and with different people. Provide education and support to the tutors both, at your service as well as in the organisation that they are teaching in.
